Casa de los Gatos needs your help to continue our mission of providing nine good lives for felines in Tucson. Come join us in rescuing and caring for cats and kittens in need each and every day…..you will be rewarded with lots of purrs and whisker rubs from your new furry friends!!

Foster Families are an essential part of that mission. We need loving responsible families to care for the rescued dogs, puppies, cats and kittens until wonderful adoptive homes can be found for them. For more information on fostering click HERE.

There are also many other volunteer opportunities with Casa de los Gatos!

Saving the lives of hundreds of animals would not be possible if it weren’t for all of the wonderful volunteers and fosters who do what they do for the dogs & cats that need our help.

We always need:

  • Cleaning and Cat Care – at any of the sanctuaries where hundreds of sweet and affectionate cats need lots of TLC.
  • Adoption Counselors – to help match our great dogs and cats to great families in permanent homes, so we’ll have room to rescue even more dogs and cats in need.
  • Transportation Volunteers – for Vet visits, delivery to and from adoption locations

Volunteers under the age of 18 need to have a parent or guardian accompany them for their first volunteer session. You may come to 3255 N. Flanwill Blvd on any Friday or Saturday between 10am and 2pm to get started.  Download a volunteer application and emergency contact form to fill out and bring with you.

Additionally we are looking for people with special talents to join our Rescue Team and are in search of:

  • Grant Writers:  Write grants to keep our mission of rescuing animals a reality.
  • Special Event Coordinators: Help find Forever Homes by organizing adoption events.
  • Fundraising Coordinators: Raise funds to help cover costs for the continual needs of caring for the animals.
  • Community Speakers:  Spread the word about responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering and the benefits of helping animals in need.
  • Photographers:  Take photos for newsletters, etc. and of animals to be posted on Petfinder to help them find Forever Homes.
  • Dog walkers and trainers: Although our main goal is helping cats in-need, there are several dogs that we have rescued along the way.  Eventually they will be adopted to good Forever Families but until then we always need volunteers to help care for the dogs thru exercise, socialization and basic training.

Other ways you can help:

  • Help a low-income family with Vet care.
  • Organize a TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) program
  • Adopt a rescued cat.
  • Keep your feline friend forever.

Send us a message or give us a call at 520-881-0900 if you are interested in volunteering.
